We got tired of wasting time too.

If you've ever tried to find a reputable engine shop, you already know the drill...

You start calling around.

You wait days for quotes (or never hear back).

Meet the Founder of Avyn.

Tanner Osborn’s passion for aviation started long before he ever set foot in the cockpit.

Since he was a kid growing up in North Dakota, he always dreamed of flying. In third grade, his teacher gave him a worksheet that asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Tanner's answer was simple: "I would like to be a pilot because it could be fun to fly."

He even drew a picture of small Cessna with the words: "I daydream about airplanes" scribbled underneath — a dream that never left.

Tanner first got his start in aviation working on the ramp in North Dakota, refueling planes and flipping whatever he could to pay for his flight lessons.

He worked his way up with no shortcuts, earning his private pilot certificate, commercial license, CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings — building the majority of his flight time instructing in tailwheel aircraft.

Over the years, he built over 1,200+ hours flying as an instructor, flying charter, and eventually launching his own aerial survey business in 2020 — learning firsthand how much of this industry still runs on outdated systems, gatekept resources, and dead-end processes.

We started Avyn to solve the real problems pilots, owners, and operators face every day — the ones nobody's really fixed. This vendor list is just one example of that.

We kept hearing the same thing: finding a good engine shop is a nightmare. Prices are inconsistent. Turnaround times are vague. And most owners waste time chasing quotes or overpaying simply because they didn't have better options.

So we started building the list we wish someone had handed us — not just shop names, but actual insight: quotes, turnaround timelines, verified contacts, and real-world notes you'd normally only get through trusted word-of-mouth.

Because that's what Avyn is really about — removing the friction so aircraft owners, operators, and aviation entrepreneurs can move forward faster, smarter, and with more clarity.

Whether it's finding the right aircraft, structuring the right deal, or knowing where to go for work that gets done right, we exist to support your vision with strategy, connection, and the right tools.

Our Mission is Simple

To make aircraft ownership more accessible, more efficient, and more aligned with the real needs of aircraft owners.

What Makes The Directory Different?

Most directories are generic, outdated, or scraped together by people who’ve never had to actually use them. This one’s different.

We built this because we needed it ourselves, and so did the buyers, owners, and flight schools we help every day.

It’s organized based on real-world workflows, includes information that actually matters, and updates with what’s changing, not just what’s easy to find online.

It’s not a brokerage tool, and it’s not pay-to-play. There are no shop advertisements, upsells, or hidden fees. Just the kind of clarity and access we wish we had from the beginning.
